The aim of this study was to measure glycated albumin (GA) and fasting and nonfasting plasma glucose (FPG and NFPG) concentrations in patients undergoing cardiac surgery and to correlate GA with these measurements. This is a prospective observational study of 128 adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery in a tertiary cardiac hospital in Australia. Fasting blood samples were collected 1 day before surgery and GA levels measured by boronate affinity chromatography. After surgery, blood samples were taken hourly.
